In 1924 the land on Lawai Road on the South Shore of Kaua’i was established to honor Prince Jonah Kuhio Kalanianaole Piikoi. The park is maintained by the Royal Order of Kamehameha I - “Kaumualii” Chapter 3" and Nā Kahu o Hōʻai, who continue the work of Prince Kuhio and his legacy of dedication to the Hawaiian people.
