Prince Kuhio Park rebuild after Hurricane Lowell

The Royal Order of Kamehameha I - Kaumuali’i Chapter 3 is overseeing the recovery and restoration of Prince Kuhio Park, which was destroyed by Hurricane Lowell in September 2026. The extensive damage includes destruction of the park’s main pavilion, rock walls and structures, the loko i’a (fishpond) and other cultural assets that make the park a special and historic place on Kaua’i’s South Side. We deeply appreciate our community’s response in helping with our initial clean-up efforts; however, now begins a lengthy rebuild of the park’s infrastructure and cultural assets which will take much time. Unfortunately, for this reason, the Park will remain closed to the public until further notice.

If you would like to support our work, you may do so via the link below. Financial contributions made to this project will go to Nā Kahu O Hōʻai, a 501c3 non-profit, and are tax deductible. Please understand that we are small group of volunteers who give our time as best we can - and that this will be a long-term recovery and rebuilding effort. We sincerely appreciate your understanding, aloha, and support.
